7 Simple Steps for a Strong SEO Strategy

The company you work for is redesigning its website, and you’re responsible for the content. Sounds pretty exciting, isn’t it? When your boss informs you that they’re in charge of SEO or search engines optimization (SEO) also. The project suddenly seems less thrilling anymore. You’re not an SEO expert. You don’t have many years of experience in SEO. The anxiety sets in. SEO Strategy.

Wait a second! It’s true regardless of whether you’re making changes, improving or just starting with your SEO strategy, fundamentals of SEO aren’t difficult at all. They’re simply common sense. It’s not my intention to steal anything from the stars of rock who have built careers around SEO knowledge. We need them. Their knowledge is extremely useful because there’s an abundance of research and science involved in SEO and it is always changing because search engines such as Google keep updating their algorithms.

What I’m trying to say is that you don’t need to possess a master’s degree in SEO to make sure that your site is properly positioned to attract organic traffic from search engines.

When I typed in the “dog has food allergies” question above, words such as “sensitivities,” “natural,” and “balanced” show up. Remember to think of related words, such as synonyms (thesaurus.com could be your best companion) or groups of related words. Let’s return to our dog’s food allergies, search. Consider the key words like “food sensitivities,” “all-natural diet,” “complete balanced nourishment,” and “only natural ingredients.”

2. Write High Quality Content (Naturally)

The most important thing is to make use of your marketing sense to make engaging content that is beneficial to your market. Good content addresses the questions your clients have, provide the buyers with information that they can utilize and teaches them so that they’re more effective in their work. In the content you’re creating, make sure to include relevant keywords naturally. Don’t attempt to stuff your pages with keywords (i.e. including keyword phrases repeatedly within your content or in your meta tags and in your Alt descriptions, etc.) to boost the ranking of your site. This won’t improve your ranking on search engines (in reality, in fact, it may cause harm to it).

If search engines find you (and they will, because their bots are super intelligent!) They could punish your website by decreasing your rank or eliminating your website from their index. Furthermore, it may not be appealing to the visitors to your site. Who would want reading the exact sentences repeatedly: “Are you looking for organic dog food? If you’re searching for an organic pet food source, then look no further. Our site for organic dog food is the most reliable place to buy organic dog food.” Be honest, you’re writing for an individual.

3. Use Keywords in Your Website Page URLs

Make sure that you do not overlook your URLs for your website as they’re crucial for SEO. This is where your research on keywords can be useful. For example, if a page talks about your solar financing product, then the URL for that page should be products/solar-financing. Concentrate on the most popular and searched-for terms. If you’re trying to choose between “solar financing” and “solar leasing,” pick the one that has the highest ranking in search results.

There are several easy and quick (and cost-free) methods to assess you’re the rank of your search. One is to use Google AdWords Keyword Planner. Enter your keywords and see the extent to which they are popular previously in relation to the volume of searches. You can also utilize Google Trends, which is an amazing website to look around. Check out different keywords and see the graphical representation of the keywords you are interested in over time.

4. Don’t Overlook Page Titles

While you’re making these captivating headlines, make sure that your key word is included at the top of the page (the H1) or your subhead (the H2). With the solar financing example that we discussed above, your H1 may have the title “Solar Financing Made Easy.”

5. Review Every Page for Additional Keyword Placement

Once you’ve put together excellent content that your market wants (and desires) and has catchy headlines that draw them in and make them want to continue reading Review all the words you wrote. In your analysis you should look for other places in which you could naturally include keywords. Could you change the sentence to include keywords? For instance, on a page that discusses marketing automation “Identify the best customers and convert more” could be changed to “Marketing automation helps you identify the best customers and convert more.” Also take into consideration whether you can make a keyword phrase by putting a word the front of an appropriate keyword? If I write a paragraph that talks about “marketing campaigns” and “marketing automation” is a key word for my site I’d include “automated” to “marketing campaigns.” Make several reviews runs. You might be surprised by what opportunities you missed in the first and the next time.

6. Improve User Experience

This goes far beyond the content of websites however, good UX is getting more crucial in achieving good SEO rankings. As per Robert Berris in his blog Three UX Principles That Help Your website does its job correctly, “During the last two years, Google has evolved to put more emphasis on websites that provide high-quality user experiences across all platforms and devices. Although traditional ranking factors still remain the king of the hill SEO, it is increasingly being transformed into user optimization.” Therefore, you must cooperate with your web developers to ensure that your site is simple to use and understand, and that every link is functional and leads your users to the next piece of information they’re seeking.

7. Hire an Expert

As I mentioned previously, basic SEO is typically simple. If you are able to afford it, it’s recommended to engage an SEO specialist to make sure your website is optimized.
